We aim to treat all our customers as we would like to be treated. We would therefore, like to keep these terms and conditions as simple as possible for you. Your statutory rights covered by the consumer protection law are not affected by anything here.
In our online fabric store we will automatically confirm your orders receipt and confirm the dispatch of the order by email. We will contact you if there are any issues with your order. We may also communicate with you occasionally to make you aware of any latest news or special offers that we may have. If you would like not to receive these communications, then please let us know.
Should you be unhappy in any way with any aspect of the service or products you receive from us then please contact us and we will do everything reasonable to resolve any issues.
Through the website we accept immediate payment using Paypal and by Credit or Debit Card. Please note it is also possible to pay using a credit or debit card through PayPal without having a Paypal account. If you would like to pay by bank transfer or cheque we are happy to accept payment this way, just contact us to arrange this, orders will not be dispatched until the payment has been cleared. Goods can also be collected in person from the shop. Please add this to the comments when purchasing the goods or choose the pick up in store option.
Discounts and Promotional Special Offer Codes
Any Discounts and Promotional Special Offer codes issued by Sew New Ltd are to be used against the purchase of products only. These may be withdrawn by Sew New Ltd at any time. Only one Discount or Promotional Special Offer code can be accepted on any order. It is the responsibility of the customer to enter the appropriate code at the time of purchase, as failure to use the available codes cannot be rectified after the purchase has been completed. If you should have any queries relating to any purchase with Discount or Promotional Special Offer codes, please contact us prior to your purchase and we will be happy be to assist.
Supply of goods
When you purchase something from us we aim to dispatch the same working day for orders placed before 3pm. We aim to have the stock levels as accurate as possible on the website, but in the unlikely event that we cannot dispatch your order with the stock we have at hand we will contact you and give you an estimate of delivery time and the option of splitting your order or of receiving a refund. We make every effort to describe the goods accurately on the website and whilst every effort is made to ensure that the photos are a true likeness of the item, each electronic device may show these with different colours. Laundry and dry cleaning
Whilst every effort is made to place accurate laundry instructions on each product listing, as we have no control over the circumstances in which laundry occurs Sew New Ltd can take no responsibility for any damage or loss incurred from you washing any of the products you purchase form us. We do however, recommend that you test a small portion of this before using the fabrics.
If the goods purchased from us are faulty or defective in any way then you have the choice, we will either replace them or will refund you. If you bought them in the sewing shop, please return them to the shop. If you bought them online, please email us for details. If you have bought something that you decide that you no longer require, and it is within 14 days of purchase, please return the goods in their original condition to us and we will refund back to you the costs of the goods. We may take up to 7 working days from your return arriving here to process your refund. If you have requested the fabrics in your order to be cut a certain way, then we reserve the right to charge a £1.00 per fabric re-stocking fee. Sale fabrics may be subject to a discretionary re-stocking fee which may be up to 50% of the pre-sale price of the fabric, we will only ever apply this fee if we feel that there is a deliberate attempt to abuse the spirit of a discount.

The delivery charges are worked out based on the weight of the items you have bought. If the postage charged is greater than the actual cost of postage a refund will be issued to this effect.
All the products are securely packaged and will be sent out either by Royal Mail using the class you select or by Courier, depending on the weight of your package. Some items such as aerosols or long length items will be sent via courier as they are not permitted via Royal Mail.
We know that you love to receive your goods without any delay, we aim to dispatch orders same day if they are placed with is before 3pm. We will email you when we dispatch your order and if it does not arrive when you expect it to, get in touch with us. We will investigate and can arrange to send a replacement package to you if we have the goods available.
If there is a product that is priced incorrectly on our website then we may need to either cancel and refund your order or will contact you to arrange the payment of the additional amount.
Out Of Stock Items
While every effort is made to ensure that the stock on the website reflects the actual levels we have available for sale, sometimes we may not have the item you have paid for on the website. If the fabric is an 'Almost Gone' or a remnant then we will refund you for that item and dispatch your order without delay. Otherwise we will contact you to resolve the issue with the lack of stock and will offer an alternative or a refund. We will place your order on hold while we wait to hear from you.
Refunds For Sewing Classes/workshops
Should you need to cancel your place on a sewing workshop then you are entitled to a full refund if you notify us of the cancellation 28 days or more before the date of the class. You are entitled to a 50% refund of the course if you cancel between 28 and 14 days before the date of the course and if we resell your place then you will be issued with a full refund. If you cancel less than 14 days before your course then we are sorry, but we can only issue a refund if we manage to resell your place.
Sewing services and alterations
Whilst every effort is made to ensure that your items are completed as quickly as possible, there may be times during our peak seasons where there is a queue. During these times we will proceed on a strictly first come, first served basis.
As our machinery and working area are regularly cleaned, in the interests of hygiene, we reserve the right to refuse dirty or unclean items. No offense is intended by this and it is intended to protect your own items as well as our machinery.
For items that have been made to order/bespoke dressmaking/tailoring, the contract is completed upon final payment. Any alterations requested after receipt of final payment will be classed as an alteration and subject to alteration charges accordingly.
Any contract for your purchase of goods and services from Sew New Ltd is governed by the Law of England and Wales, and you agree that such contract will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the England and Wales courts.
We do not share your data with any other company for any marketing purposes and will not do so. Information about you as a customer and the orders you have placed is held in our database. We can, if you require, supply a copy of all the data we hold about you and are happy to remove your details from our system should you request that we do so. You may receive notifications for delivery purposes only from our delivery partners, this information is not used by them for marketing purposes.
We do not store credit card details nor do we share customer details with any 3rd parties.
