Christmas stocking workshop

This in-person beginners class is ideal to get back into sewing or start your sewing journey. Bring your own machine or use one of ours. This is a small class with a maximum of 4 people so places are limited so early booking is essential. 

What you learn:

Make a basic felt stocking with personalisation with fake fur trim

Make an Christmas stocking with either personalisation on the front or learn basic applique dependent on your sewing level.  

What is provided:

- Learn how to cut out the fabric and pattern placement.

- Red felt and white fur

-A choice of red, green and white felts are available for the personalisation/name. Please indicate what name and the colours you want to use so that we can prepare these in advance of the lesson.

- Use of irons, scissors, threads , and fabrics to practise with.

- Help, advice and support throughout the workshop

- Step by step instructions and demonstrations 

- Refreshments including tea or coffee and biscuits and cakes.

- A fun and friendly enviroment to meet like-minded people.

This 2 hour workshop is held upstairs in our shop in Northallerton High Street.

What you need to bring:

- Sewing machine (if you want to use one of ours, please email info@sewnew.co.uk in advance).

- Optional Notebook and pen for notes

-Your glasses for sewing if needed.

- Basic sewing kit including pins, scissors, 

Note:

Please note it is up a flight of stairs but we can help carry your machines up the stairs if needed. Parking is available at the rear of the property for the duration of the workshop.
